Interested in moving to Angel Fire, New Mexico? If you have school age children, you’re probably wondering what’s available for schools in such a remote location. Fortunately, there are many options and the state of New Mexico offers school choice. This means you can send your children to any school you choose. Keep in mind that only public schools within your local school district will provide transportation so if you choose a public school outside your local district, you would need to arrange or provide transportation for your children.
Angel Fire, New Mexico is located within Cimarron Municipal School District (CMSD) which extends from Black Lake to Cimarron, New Mexico. CMSD consists of several schools. Eagle Nest School is a PK-8 school located in the nearby village of Eagle Nest. Additionally, Cimarron, New Mexico, located just beyond Eagle Nest has public schools available at all grade levels; Cimarron Elementary-Middle School & Cimarron High School. If you choose to send your children to one of these excellent schools, you can take advantage of bus services. Schools are in session four days per week rather than the typical five days per week. As of this writing, there is no school on most Mondays.
Furthermore, if you have children in high school, Moreno Valley High School is a charter high school. This is the only school located right here in Angel Fire. This Paideia school operates four days per week and typically ranks top in the state.
Students in the Angel Fire area can also take advantage of home or online schooling. New Mexico Connections Academy provides education to students in grades 4-12. While New Mexico Virtual Academy provides education to students in grades 6-12.
Finally, you can also choose to send your children to one of the many school in Taos, New Mexico. Taos is approximately a thirty minute drive from Angel Fire and offers both public and charter schools at all grade levels. Bus transportation would not be provided from Angel Fire.
