Angel Fire, New Mexico is a well-known ski resort and bike park destination in the Sangre de Cristo mountains of Northern New Mexico. The ski area is considered family friendly with generations coming here to teach their children how to ski on the slopes. There are 80 established trails of varying difficulty, from easy greens to advanced black diamonds, and nearly 2,100 vertical feet of terrain, making it a intermediate mountain with something for everyone. And if you’re looking for a ski resort with that small-town feel, Angel Fire has it! While skier visits have been increasing steadily over the last decade, Angel Fire still retains that local, mountain-to-yourself atmosphere for much of the ski season, making it a great value and experience.

The Angel Fire Bike Park has grown exponentially over the last decade and has become known internationally as one of the best bike parks in the Southwest region of North America. There are over 60 miles of trails exclusively for mountain biking, from swoopy flow trails to chunky gnar. The Angel Fire Bike Shop is established as one of the best shop to go to for maintenance and repairs, with a knowledgeable staff that is passionate about bikes of all kinds. Also in the summer, visitors and locals spend their days enjoying the fresh alpine air while participating in activities such as golfing, ziplining, hiking, fishing, paddleboarding, horseback riding, and so much more. Angel Fire is a base for all things family adventure in the heart of the Rocky Mountains.

One of the largest draws of Angel Fire is its vast abundance of natural beauty. Located in a mountain valley, Angel Fire is surrounded on all sides by majestic peaks, including Wheeler Peak, the tallest mountain in New Mexico. Hiking and biking trails through forests of ponderosas and aspens offer plenty of exploration, and a quick 10-minute drive brings you to the Eagle Nest Lake reservoir for fishing and boating. The evening alpenglow is Mother Nature’s nightly light show and should not be missed!

Since March 2020, Angel Fire has also become known for its Work-From-Home capabilities, with reliable fiber optic internet throughout much of the valley, its small population size, and vast open spaces making it a desirable location for folks to move their work out of the office space. Angel Fire still remains relatively quiet and low-traffic town for much of the year.
